From April 11 through April 13, young feminists from all over the country will bring their energy and enthusiasm to Washington D.C. for the second Young Feminist Summit sponsored by the NOW Foundation. The National NOW Foundation headquarters is in full gear preparing for this summit, but we need your help to spread the word.

As part of our commitment to affirmative action, we are working to ensure that the Young Feminist Summit reflects the real diversity of young feminists in our communities from coast to coast. Special outreach should be directed to pre-college students, non-students, people of color, and people of different economic classes or physical/mental abilities.

Young feminists' efforts to organize are critical to the women's rights movement. The National Young Feminist Committee wants the summit to focus on developing the skills needed to advance women's rights. They are looking forward to having summit participants meet with regional leaders to develop local plans.

Your interest and involvement will help make this vitally important event a success. The summit is open to anyone who is interested, but we are making every effort to recruit young activists nationwide. We must reach young women and men not only on high school and college campuses, but also in vocational schools, job training centers, the military and the workforce.

Please consider how to provide financial assistance to young feminists whose economic situation might otherwise prevent them from attending. We suggest sponsoring a fundraiser to make this possible. Enclosed you will find a fact sheet for the summit, information on summit and hotel registration, transportation and a call for workshop proposals. Your use of our conference travel agent helps us earn airfares for speakers and entertainers.
